Working with the Lunar Eclipse
The difference between working with a full moon versus working with a lunar eclipse
Anyone who knows me knows I love working with the moon, and this moon is no exception.
It was full Moon last night Friday 14 March at 5.55pm Melbourne Time, don’t fret if you missed it as you can work with a full moon 2 days before and after, however last nights full moon was also a Lunar Eclipse, which does mean we need to work with the energies a little bit differently.
Full Moons are all about illumination and manifestation, of bring to light what is hidden in the shadows.
While Lunar eclipses are about releasing what has been holding you back. The Lunar eclipse creates a window of opportunity to detach away energies, emotions, and connections that don’t align with your highest vision. This can be overwhelming, but as you work through the energies you will start to feel lighter as you being to surrender everything up to the eclipse.
This Lunar eclipse is also a blood moon, and no this does not mean the world is about to end!
If you look throughout history there is a lot about the Blood Moon and humans, the lunar eclipse shows us a different perspective of herself as well as ourselves, our more darker, hidden selves. It is a reminder of duality that we are all made up of dark and light, with the eclipse bringing up our darker emotions, this is the time to make peace with the ourselves and bring ourselves into balance.
A blood moon can also bring up the usual upheaval of an eclipse but it is also a harbinger of change, which can bring discomfort as you are faced with your shadow self.
This is not the time to make any drastic changes but to be gentle and spend quiet time with yourself, and take stock of what it is you want to close the door on and move on from.
Be prepared for big emotions to arise, eclipses are a supercharger of the emotions we would normally feel on a full moon, some of the things that may occur are, you may feel your sleep cycles affected and your dreams can be more intense. Tap in and embrace the shadows this can be a time of major transformation.
Something I like to do when releasing and this can be amplified with an eclipse, is as emotions arise and I am shown what I need to release I will write them down, once I have everything I feel I am ready to let go of, in a fireproof ceramic bowl I light a candle and burn the pieces of paper.
As the paper burns picture the fire burning what you are ready to release from you, breathe deeply throughout this and as you breathe out make sure you release further what it is you are ready to say goodbye to.
A simple ritual but one that always helps me focus and I feel lighter afterwards from and a ritual you can do with the waning and new moons as well.
Happy Eclipse!
